The Vision
Located in Boston’s historic Beacon Hill neighborhood, this custom indoor residential sauna was designed as the ultimate post-workout recovery space alongside a luxury home gym. The goal was to seamlessly blend authentic Scandinavian heat with cutting-edge smart home automation.
The Craftsmanship
The interior is fully wrapped in premium Thermory® Thermo-Aspen, offering a rich, knot-free aesthetic that holds up flawlessly to intense heat. We paired this with a sleek, stone-packed HUUM heater and a full glass front from Thermory to open up the space and invite natural light. Subtle, indirect LED backrest lighting creates a grounded, relaxing atmosphere the moment you step inside.
Intelligent Ventilation & Automation
What sets this build apart is the custom-engineered, automated climate control powered by Lutron. True Finnish saunas require excellent airflow, but pulling in cold air during the initial heat-up wastes energy.
Energy-Saving Heat Up: The fresh air intake remains off while the HUUM heater comes up to temperature.
Occupancy Sync: When you enter the sauna and turn on the mood lighting, the fresh air supply automatically kicks in to provide highly oxygenated, breathable heat.
Automated Moisture Control: After the session ends, a separate, high-powered exhaust fan automatically triggers and runs for exactly 15 minutes to clear out moisture, protecting the home’s framing and drywall.
